How We Met

We met at Loughborough University in 2000 when Ian was chairman of the kart club and Jo joined up at the fresher’s fayre. Ian recalls being chauffeured by Jo following one of the first club outings that year, but our first real time together was at the motor show when we were deserted by the rest of the group and left to wander around on our own for several hours.

We finally got together just before Christmas when we spent all night chatting and eating mini weetabix in Jo’s kitchen. After lots of emailing over the holidays, our first official date was at the Autosport show.

The Engagement

Ian whisked Jo off to the lake district, supposedly for a birthday treat. After a fantastic meal in the hotel, we retired to our room. Whilst we were in our turret, looking out to Derwent Water, Ian got down on one knee and popped the question.
